THE TUESDAY MIXTAPE | “Force Notice” | 11.6.13
We all contain a specific energy — unique and special — that is all our own. It is who makes you — you. Your brand of style, swag and panache defines you. And when you can tap into the traits that are your genetic human behavioral and intellectual DNA, you’re unstoppable.
A large part of life is not only finding those qualities inside you, but trusting yourself enough to lay them all out on the line, let them go (release the hounds). These characteristics are what separate you from everyone else.
Artists are fantastic at bringing the you out of you. Anything can let it loose too, there are no rules. Could be a sick riff, nasty beat, gnarly sample; many times it’s artist’s lyrics we hold on to, cause deep down inside, you feel they’re your own private representative, hired to speak on your behalf. They are. It’s one of their functions.
Today’s mixtape is about musicians having the courage to get crazy with it. To wild the fuck out with what’s really going on in their heads, and it’s about the listener being affected. Cause at the end of the day, if the music isn’t moving you, pushing you to be and act like the genuine article that is you, than what the hell you playing it for? Be you.

My night with Lorde, an extremely talented artist with hair for days throwing lyrics down on hip hop beats guaranteed to get you moving, was incredible. Not your typical Tuesday night but god damn, it was a good one.
Lorde’s album, The Love Club, dropped last year and she has finally made her way to the states, performing her first ever US concert at le Poisson Rouge here in NYC. I was there to witness it!
Work Hard. Stay Humble.
